সব কর্মচারীকে বছরের শুরুতে নিজ ধর্ম অনুযায়ী নির্ধারিত তিন দিনের ঐচ্ছিক ছুটি ভোগ করার জন্য উপযুক্ত কর্তৃপক্ষের পূর্ব অনুমোদন নিতে হবে। সাধারণ ছুটি, নির্বাহী আদেশে সরকারি ছুটি ও সাপ্তাহিক ছুটির সঙ্গে যুক্ত করে ঐচ্ছিক ছুটি ভোগ করার অনুমতি দেওয়া যেতে পারে।
যেসব অফিসের সময়সূচি ও ছুটি তাদের নিজস্ব আইন-কানুন দিয়ে নিয়ন্ত্রিত হয়ে থাকে বা যেসব অফিস, সংস্থা ও প্রতিষ্ঠানের চাকরি সরকার থেকে অত্যাবশ্যক হিসেবে ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে- সেক্ষেত্রে সংশ্লিষ্ট অফিস, সংস্থা ও প্রতিষ্ঠান নিজস্ব আইন-কানুন অনুযায়ী জনস্বার্থ বিবেচনা করে এ ছুটি ঘোষণা করতে পারবেন বলে প্রজ্ঞাপনে জানানো হয়েছে।
